Dr. Cecile Yoon-Tarlie
Born and raised in the Midwest, I completed my dental degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) in 1995 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry graduating as a member of the OKU Dental honor society as well as a recipient of several academic and leadership awards. I completed my orthodontic specialty residency program at the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics with a Masters in Oral Sciences in 1998. My retrospective research thesis on mandibular growth won an award at the Post Doctoral clinical and research day in 1998 and was presented at the Moyers pre-symposium also in 1998.
I believe continuing education and maintaining orthodontic / dental memberships are crucial to not only keeping up with the newest research, technologies, and innovations but also maintaining a camaraderie among my cohorts. Some of my professional memberships include Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, American Association of Orthodontists, North Eastern Society of Orthodontists, Massachusetts Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts State Dental Society, and American College of Dentists.
I am so blessed to be a part of this amazing profession. I am a second generation dentist (my father is a prosthodontist, and my mother was his head lab technician) and grew up appreciating the art and science of smiles.
Not only does orthodontics allow me to create beautiful, healthy smiles but also form strong bonds with patients and their families over a long period of time- even seeing our former patients with now their kids. Orthodontics is truly an art and a science, allowing me to address each patient’s individual smile needs with his/her own unique plan.
